What Information We Collect
Through our Services, InVista collects information that alone, or in combination with other data, identifies or relates to you (“Personal Information”). InVista also collects information that does not reveal your identity or relate directly to you or any other individual (“Other Information”). We may collect the following types of information when you use the Services.
Information you provide directly to us
For certain activities, such as when you request information, register, use other features, or contact us directly, we may collect some or all of the following types of Personal Information:
- Contact information, such as your full name, e-mail address, mobile phone number, and address
- Optional demographic information, such as gender, ethnicity, etc;
Any other information you provide to us
We may combine such information with information we already have about you.
Information we collect automatically
We may collect certain information automatically when you use our Services. For example, we collect your Internet protocol (“IP”) address, Media Access Control (“MAC”) address, mobile device identifier or other unique device identifier for the devices you use to access the Services, advertising identifiers, browser type, operating system, software version, phone model, phone operating system and carrier information, Internet service provider, and the domain name from which you access the Services.
We may also collect certain information about your use of the Services, including the date and time of your visit; the pages that you visit before and after using the Services; how much time you spend using the Services and how you often you return; other clickstream, usage and viewing data; e-mails that you open, forward or click through to our Services; other pages or mobile applications that you may visit or use; your mobile device’s GPS signal; information about nearby WiFi access points and cell towers; and other standard server log information.
We also automatically collect data to address and fix technical problems and improve our Services, including the memory state of your device when a system or app crash occurs while using our Services. Your device or browser settings may permit you to control the collection of this technical data. This data may include parts of a document you were using when a problem occurred or the contents of your communications.
Information we receive from third parties
We may also receive information about you from other sources, including through third-party services and organizations. For example, if you access third-party social network services (“Social Networks”), such as Facebook, Google, or Twitter, through the Services to log in to the Services or to share information about your experience about the Services with others, we may collect information from these Social Networks. We may combine data we collect from you, such as your e-mail address or name, with data we receive from third-parties and use this to contact you (e.g., through direct mail).
Information we may collect with your consent
You may be able to use our mobile applications to scan barcodes or take images of items or places to create lists or participate in promotions. To do so, our mobile applications may request permission to access your camera and photo files. Please note that some features of the Services or mobile applications may not be usable or available to you if you do not grant us such permission.
How We Use Your Information
InVista uses the Personal Information we collect online (including by combining it with Other Information) to:
- Provide, maintain, protect and improve the Services and develop new ones.
- Provide you with current information about the Services and those of our Affiliates (defined below), including updating you on changes to or improvements in the Services.
- Contact you as part of our ongoing and future marketing efforts.
- Communicate with you about your account and/or use of the Services and maintain records of such communications to help solve any issues you may face.
- Respond to or fulfill your requests for products, services, and information.
- Analyze the use of the Services and user data to understand and improve the Services.
- Customize the content or features you see when you use the Services.
- Further our business or operational purposes; for example, data analysis, audits, fraud monitoring, and prevention of fraud or other illegal activities or other prohibited conduct.
- For any other purposes disclosed to you at the time we collect your information or pursuant to your consent.
With respect to the Other Information (defined above) that InVista collects that does not personally identify you, because it is the aggregate form or otherwise, we may collect, compile, store, publish, promote, report, sell, or otherwise disclose or use this Other Information for any legal purpose. For example, InVista may share such Other Information publicly and with our partners including publishers, advertisers, or connected sites, to demonstrate trends in the use of our Services and for other purposes.
Sharing of Information
We may share your Personal Information with third-party contractors and service providers (“Service Providers”) with third-party contractors and service providers (“Service Providers”) that provide business, professional or technical support functions, assistance in operating our business, or other activities in support of the Services or our businesses. Our Service Providers are not authorized to use your personal information for purposes other than those related to the services they are providing to us.
Sweepstakes, contests, and promotions

We may share your information with select companies that we believe may have offers of interest to you.
We may disclose your personal information to the government or third parties to comply with the law, applicable regulations, subpoenas, court orders, law enforcement requests, legal claims, government or quasi-government inquiries, or other legal process, for example, in connection with suspected illegal activity associated with the Services or our businesses and to protect against harm to InVista, PAR, our Affiliates, users, or the public.
If we are legally compelled to disclose your Personal Information to a third party, we will attempt (if permitted by law) to notify you at the e-mail address in our records (if any). InVista reserves the right to release personal information collected through the Services to law enforcement or other government officials as we deem necessary or appropriate in our sole discretion.
With your consent or at your direction
We may share information for any other purposes disclosed to you at the time we collect the information or pursuant to your consent or direction.
Aggregate, anonymous, or deidentified information
InVista may share aggregate, anonymous, or deidentified information with third parties without restriction, including for their marketing or analytics uses.
Social Networks and Other Third-Party Sites
If you access Social Networks through the Services to log in to the Services or to share information about your experience on the Services with others, these Social Networks may be able to collect Personal Information about you, including information about your activity on the Services, and they may notify your connections on the Social Networks about your use of the Services, in accordance with their own privacy policies.
If you choose to engage in public activities relating to the Services on any Social Networks or third-party sites, you should be aware that any information you share there can be read, collected, or used by other users of such areas. You should use caution in disclosing Personal Information while participating in these areas. We are not responsible for the information you choose to submit in these public areas.
InVista has implemented reasonable safeguards designed to help Personal Information from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. You should understand that no data storage system or transmission of data over the Internet or any other public network can be guaranteed to be 100 percent secure. Please note that information collected by third parties may not have the same security protections as information you submit to us, and we are not responsible for protecting the security of such information.
If you believe that your InVista account or any information you provided to us is no longer secure, please notify us immediately through the Contact Us information provided below.
How To Opt Out, Access, or Update Your Information
You may opt out of receiving general and marketing communications via the “unsubscribe” link in such e-mails or by e-mailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also request that we delete your Personal Information by sending us an e-mail at email@example.com.
When you use the Services, InVista strives to provide you with access to your Personal Information to the extent feasible. If that information is wrong, InVista will attempt to offer you options for updating or deleting it – unless InVista needs to keep that information for business or legal purposes. For your protection, when you seek to update your Personal Information, InVista may require you to verify your identity before InVista can act on such request.
If you receive marketing communications from PAR or other Affiliates, you must opt out individually from the specific entity from which you are receiving brand-specific marketing communications. Nonaffiliated third parties are independent from InVista. If you wish to receive information about your disclosure choices or stop communications from such third parties, you will need to contact those nonaffiliated third parties directly.
InVista may reject requests that are unreasonably repetitive, require disproportionate technical effort (for example, developing a new system or fundamentally changing an existing practice), threaten the privacy of others, or are impractical (for instance, requests concerning information residing on backup systems).
We use different types of cookies, web or hardware beacons, pixel tags, log files, local shared objects (“Local Shared Objects”), HTML5 cookies, and similar technologies to automatically collect the information discussed above.
Some cookies we use are essential for enabling your movement around our website and providing access to our Services. You may be able to refuse or disable these cookies by adjusting your web browser settings. Consult the instructions provided by your web browser (typically in the help section). However, please keep in mind that many of our features (such as remembering your preferences) may not function properly if your cookies are disabled. We use analytics providers to collect and analyze information about your use of our website and report on activities and trends. These services may also collect information in the aggregate regarding the use of other websites, apps and online resources. We do not control all of the information collected by such partners or advertisers in connection with our website, and they do not process all such data on our behalf. Some third parties collect information about users of our Services to provide interest-based advertising on our Services and elsewhere, including across browsers and devices. These third parties may use the information they collect on our Services to make predictions about your interests in order to provide you ads (from us and other companies) across the Internet. Some of these third parties may participate in an industry organization that gives users the opportunity to opt out of receiving ads that are tailored based on your online activities.
We use LinkedIn Insight Tags to collect aggregate data from users who visit our website and use our Services. The information collected by these tags include the URL, referrer, IP address, device and browser characteristics (User Agent), and timestamp. This data is encrypted, the IP addresses are truncated, and members’ direct identifiers are removed within seven days in order to make the data pseudonymous. This remaining, pseudonymized data is then deleted within 90 days. LinkedIn does not share any Personal Information with us. Due to differences between using apps and websites on mobile devices, you may need to take additional steps to disable targeted ad technologies in mobile apps. Many mobile devices allow you to opt out of targeted advertising for mobile apps using the settings within the mobile app or your mobile device. For more information, please check your mobile settings. You also may uninstall our apps using the standard uninstall process available on your mobile device or app marketplace. If you opt out, you will still receive advertisements, but they may not be as relevant to you and your interests, and your experience on our Services may be degraded.
Privacy Rights of California Residents
For residents of California who access our website or otherwise transmit Personal Information to us, we do not sell or share your Personal Information with non-affiliated third parties for their own marketing use without your permission. You have the right to request access to, changes to, or the removal of your Personal Information in accordance with applicable laws by contacting us as indicated below. We will not discriminate against you if you choose to exercise any of your rights under California law.
Links to other websites
Our Services may contain links to other websites that we do not own or control. Some of these sites may even be co-branded with our name or logo. We are not responsible for the data collection practices of any of these other websites. You will not hold us responsible for any aspect of these other websites, including their content, privacy policies, or anything else. You must use your own discretion when you go to other websites. We encourage you to carefully review the privacy policies applicable to any website or service you visit other than our website and Services before providing any Personal Information on them.
Some web browsers transmit “do-not-track” signals to websites. Because of differences in how web browsers incorporate and activate this feature, it is not always clear whether users intend for these signals to be transmitted, or whether they even are aware of them. We currently do not take action in response to these signals.
Information Concerning Children
InVista services are not directed to children, and InVista does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen (13) years. When a user discloses Personal Information on the Services, the user is representing to us that he or she is at least thirteen (13) years of age.
If you are the parent or guardian of a child under the age of thirteen (13) years, who you believe has provided InVista with personally identifiable information through the Services, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can delete the child’s information from our records.
